Frequently Asked Questions
Do you take walk ins?
Yes we do! We accept walk ins on a first come, first served basis as time allows. We have desk hours every day as follows:
Wednesday - Saturday 11 am - 3 pm
Sunday - Tuesday 10 am - 3pm
To ask about same day availability, give us a call at 510-263-8187
We are available outside of these hours by appointment as well.
How do I make an appointment?
The best way to make an appointment, is to contact your favorite artist individually. We all make our own schedules, so this is the most efficient way of getting in contact. If you’re not sure who you want to work with, feel free to fill out our general booking form and we will help assign you to an artist based on your style preferences or availability.
Where should I park?
There is metered parking directly in front of the building, but you will need to feed the meter every two hours. No worries if you need to step out to pay for parking! There is free residential parking if you go a couple blocks past park, but be careful of chaotic street sweeping schedule. The most worry free parking, would be the movie theater parking lot structure located directly next to the CVS parking lot. It’s cheaper than the meters, and you can park all day there. Make sure to pay BEFORE you leave the structure.
How do I find you?
We are a bit tucked away so it can be easy to walk past us if you dont keep your eyes peeled! We are on the second floor of the IOOF building on the corner of park and Santa Clara. Next to Peppermint Baguette. Look for the blue awning that reads “IOOF” and we usually have an A-frame sign with our shop name on it outside the building. There is a door code, that will be sent to you by your artist ahead of time, or you can give us a call to ask for the code if you can’t find it.
How do I care for my tattoo?
If you forgot how to care for your tattoo, feel free to contact your artist directly, or refer to our Aftercare Guide here.
Are you wheelchair accessible?
Mostly yes with some caveats. The building does have an elevator, which is quite old and noisy but works perfectly fine. Because of its age, it does need regular maintenance, so if you will need to use it, please give your artist a heads up so we can make sure its up and running on the day of your appointment.
Our bathroom is unfortunately too narrow to accommodate most wheelchairs. However, Peppermint Baguette downstairs is happy to let our clients use their restroom.
There is a small lip to get into our suite as well, and the elevator doesn’t line up perfectly with the floors, so there is a small lip to get in and out of that as well.
